Tierra Plates

$70.00
Sold Out

Francisco Ocampo is a master potter from Oaxaca, Mexico, whose work engages with tradition and modernity. His plates are made from locally sourced clay and handcrafted using traditional techniques. Francisco puts his own twist on the pottery by adding unique natural elements, such as the sap and leaves of organic copal and tobacco, to create a smoky black colour. The different hues, from beige to terra cotta, are created using elements sourced from a local mine. These characteristics come together to create Oaxacan pottery that is both beautiful and unique.

Sold as a pair.

Each piece is carefully made by hand. Subtle differences in glaze, finish and size may occur.
